The Task Force on Financial Literacy today confirmed that March 23 is the deadline to register to make a presentation to the Task Force during its public sessions in Vancouver, Yellowknife, Calgary, Saskatoon, and Winnipeg during the week of April 6-9.

Members of the Task Force will meet face-to-face with Canadians in every province and territory as part of their national public consultations, which will run until May 13.

All-day public sessions will take place in Vancouver and Yellowknife on April 6, in Calgary on April 7, in Saskatoon April 8, and in Winnipeg April 9.

The Task Force has invited those who cannot attend the public sessions to participate in an interactive online forum it will host on its website over the same six-week period as its public sessions, from April 6 to May 13.

Created in June 2009, the Task Force brings together 13 Canadians from the business and education sectors, community organizations, academia, the voluntary sector and the media. The Task Force’s mandate is to present to the federal Minister of Finance, by December 2010, recommendations on a national strategy to strengthen financial literacy in Canada.
